Marilyn’s Apple Cake
MARILYN'S APPLE CAKE
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced peeled apples (Apple of your choice)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
Sauce for Cake
- 1/2 cup brown sugar well packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Apple Cake
- Mix sugar with apples and let stand until sugar is dissolved.
- Add egg and beat well
- Stir dry ingredients into apple mixture.
- Pour into an 8-inch pan.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
Cake Sauce
- Cook sugar, flour and water together until clear.
- Add butter and vanilla.
- Pour warm sauce over warm cake.
